EPYC, the Empowered Prevention Youth Corps, is a group of 10 dedicated high school students who meet weekly to raise their own awareness and that of their peer community about substance abuse issues.  The group is the youth arm of the Monadnock Alcohol and Drug Abuse Coalition (MADAC).

The group’s binge drinking PSA, which they created last year, has been seen recently on the Keene Sentinel website and was transformed into a radio PSA for all of the Monadnock Radio Group stations.  The group will be looking to create more PSA messages, both video and audio, addressing alcohol and marijuana in partnership with Phoenix Academy and possibly other youth groups in the area.

The group also has plans to follow up with another round of Project Sticker Shock, the successful retail campaign to raise awareness about underage drinking by labeling packages of alcoholic beverages with stickers thanking customers for not providing alcohol to minors.
